Folk Art Painting Masterclass for COMPLETE Beginners
Are you a complete beginner whose school teacher once said you weren’t artistic? Or maybe you’ve explored different painting styles but nothing has truly clicked? If the answer is yes, and you’d love to learn to paint, you’re about to start an inspiring journey of creativity and self-discovery! Our Progress Not Perfection Painting Course is designed just for you.

Folk Art painting is a craft-based art, much like card making or knitting. We like to say it’s like learning to paint the same way you learned to write.
You don’t need natural talent or experience. It’s something you can learn, even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before.
Many of our students start out thinking they’re not artistic and when they finally give Folk Art a go, they’re amazed by what they can create.
First Class Support

There is nothing more frustrating when you are learning something new and you have questions but nowhere to ask them! You NEED to know whether you're on the right track or why you’re just ‘not getting it’ Without this support, you are much more likely to give up. That's why me and my assistant Toni are always available via our private FB group, or via email. In addition as you complete each module we provide personal feedback and a certificate of completion when you've completed all 12 modules.

For hundreds of years, ordinary people used Folk Art to bring beauty to everyday life. You may have admired it without even knowing its name, in the cheerful English canal boat painting, the charm of Russian dolls, or the decoration of painted French furniture.
Week Two

Week Three

It was often called the art of the untrained artist, created not for galleries, but for homes, hearths, cupboards, cradles, and cherished possessions. With a few brushes, a little paint, and some guidance, an everyday object becomes something lovely and personal. A greeting card. A tray. A box. A wardrobe. A gift made by hand. A treasure for generations to come. Loved not for its perfection, but for the meaning it holds.
Week Four

This course has been thoughtfully structured over 12 weeks, with one module to enjoy each week. We recommend setting aside two to three hours weekly, although life rarely unfolds in neat little schedules, so you are free to move at your own pace, pause when needed, and return whenever the moment feels right..
Week Five

Week Six

Because Folk Art is learned through repeating simple brushstrokes, confidence grows naturally. One leaf. One petal. One curl. One flower. Before long, your hands begin to remember what once felt unfamiliar. Many students discover that they want to paint every day. There is something deeply satisfying about watching skill arrive where self-doubt once lived.
Week Seven

Week Eight

All folk art uses the same basic brushstrokes. Just like most languages use the same alphabet. Most European countries have their own folk art painting style. And Pennsylvania Dutch is America’s folk art version, rooted in German immigrant traditions. Each style has it's own distinctive flowers and colour schemes.
Week Nine

Week Ten

In this course, we are not focusing on one particular style. Instead, we will learn the strokes and techniques used in folk art painting. Once you know them, you can combine them to paint any style.
Week Eleven

And yes, it's entirely true. You do not need natural talent. By the end of the course, you will have learned the complete foundation of Folk Art painting and perhaps even more importantly, you will be surprised by what you can now create.
